So, I'm a day behind this week and totally forgot last week all together... oops!
Loathes
- car salesmen - why are they all so smarmy?
- gas prices
- upgrading my computer to Leopard - it just took me too freakin' long and some of my stuff doesn't work right still!! Why can't stuff just work? Why do you have to erase and install rather than just upgrade? Why can't these computer companies get it right before unleashing stuff into the general public? I mean if the "average" computer user went thru what I just did, it would have taken them weeks!
- feeling fat and bloated
- that I am totally neglecting to get enough sleep
- the 52 weeks self portrait challenge -- well I don't really loathe it but it's getting harder to accomplish a photo a week and that frustrates me (to the right is my 21/52)
Loves
- godiva orange chocolate - I have a bar of it in the house at all times and have a square now and then when I'm feeling like chocolate
- that the girls are getting together for the Sex and the City movie
- WD passport external hard drives
- my Touareg
- the Samples
- sweet tea
Today I was on a mission to clean the house - on the Spring theme you know - and as I was trying out some new attachment on the Dyson I totally threw out my back. I have never done this before ... it's Hell! I had dinner plans with the girls tonight and sat on this hard wood chair for two hours and let me tell you, that didn't help one bit. I've got the icy hot rub on and have popped 600mg of Advil... no change. What do I do?

Spring has sprung and it was time for me to visit the outlet mall to see what kind of new Spring/Summer clothes they had to offer... Sadly it was kind of a failed trip. You know there have been times I've gone out there and had so many bags I had to make a trip back to the car to drop off so I could keep going. I haven't had much shopping luck lately. I came out with a pair of pants and a couple pair of shoes. I hit the Lands End Inlet on the way home and found this super cute giraffe print bathing suit cover up. So not what I needed but it was too cute to pass up!

P.S. week 18/52 weeks self portrait
Week 14 of 52 weeks.
Laura and I took a photo walk over the weekend and I finally had the chance to see the headless figures in Grant Park. This is a sculpture called "Agora" by Magdalena Abakanowicz.
They have been quite the controversy - people either love them or hate them. Me... well, they are kind of ugly but in the grouping they're kind of cool and intriguing. Check out my Flickr photo set to see all the photos I took.
Excuse the funny look I'm giving the camera... I had to make sure to keep an eye on it. There were lots of people walking in and through these things and the last thing I want is for my camera to get swiped! Oh that would be bad...
So I finally got around to photographing the glass heart I made a couple of weeks ago (see this post for details). I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It is so interesting to really study it and see the little things that I did to make it what it is. It's got some bubbles in the top and I'm not sure why... maybe the twisting while the color was melting into the clear.
Crazy stuff. Cool stuff.
So... today was quite a day.
I had some woman stop me (I was driving) in the street to beg me for help because she's run out of gas, the kids are in the car back at the gas station, she's from Wisconsin and doesn't know what to do - mind you she was like blocks from the gas station where she left her kids ?? - When I told her I don't have any money or anything I can do for her she replied "Would you just pray for me?"
When you pass up a stranger on the road with a story like hers, you know you've been hardened by the big city. Yes, I felt a smidgen bad driving away but after you put all the things together that she said, it just didn't add up at all. I called my friend Laura to get her take and she too thought it was hooey! I told this story to Levine this evening and he said, "Oh yeah, I gave her money." What a sucker!
I've been driving a stylin' Buick since I left the Touareg in the shop for a mystery noise... Holy hell is that thing big! I mean like comparable to my 1977 Monte Carlo big. It's a smooth ride but won't even fit in the parking space at work, it's so big. It totally hangs out in the ally and I am just praying that no one takes a hunk out of the front end.
Back up the jobsite today... it's looking good. I am starting to see the tiny little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Sadly, all of my other jobs are hot on the tail of this one. I am scheduled to be in South Carolina three solid days next week and Indy the following.
And on top of all that I am feeling like I'm coming down with something. I will down some EmergenC and try to get to bed at a decent hour!
