So I stopped in the Volkswagen dealership tonight to see the new Tiguan and maybe turn in my Touareg early for something that gets some better gas mileage... Well the Tiguan was a huge bust! It's priced from $23,000 to $34,000 and is leasing for almost $700 fully loaded. WTF? Let me say that again, WTF? I could get a Mercedes for that... no way, no deal. I didn't even bother driving it.

That said I decided to go for my second choice, the Passat. I drove the 2.0 and the 3.6 -- the 3.6 has SO much more power but only gets TWO miles more per gallon than my Touareg. Again... WTF? I had him run some lease numbers and they were pretty pitiful. I didn't even bother negotiating right now since I'm not in love with any of my options.

And you want to know the funny thing? When I was all done and hopped into the Touareg, it just felt right. Is that crazy? Maybe I'm not ready to give it up.... I will tell you this though, the day I have to throw down a hundred bones for one tank of gas I'm going to cry.

Oh about the gas prices...You will have to cry for me. We filled up the Saab the other day..... with the current exchange rate being crappy towards the US Dollar...it came to an amazing $130 to fill our tank. Good thing we do not drive often.

But since you guys need to use cars over there...I do feel for ya.

Yikes... really that much! How many Euro was that?

And yes, I use my car everyday. I might have to rethink that though. Maybe it's time to buy a bike!
